MassMediaBlock is a website blocker with Telegram-based accountability, available on Android, Windows and Linux. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. The short version: everything runs on your device, and nothing is collected by us.
Nothing. MassMediaBlock has no analytics, no advertising, no user accounts, and no servers that store your data. We, the developers, receive no information about you or your usage.
All app data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it, except as described in the next section:
If you connect an accountability buddy, the app sends that buddy messages through Telegram – for example, an alert when you open a blocked site, or a request when you try to weaken the blocking. These messages go only to the single buddy you paired with. They are relayed through our Telegram bot (@massmediablockbot) purely to deliver the message; we do not store the contents. Pairing uses an anonymous random token – we do not receive your name, phone number, or Telegram account details.
On Android, blocking works through an Accessibility Service. It reads only the web address shown in your browser's address bar, and only to detect when a blocked site is opened so it can show a block screen and (if you set one up) notify your buddy. It does not read, collect, or transmit the contents of web pages, other apps, passwords, or anything you type. No browsing data ever leaves your device through this service.
Premium subscriptions are handled by Stripe (web/desktop) or Google Play Billing (Android app). Those providers process your payment under their own privacy policies; we receive only whether a subscription is active, never your card details.
MassMediaBlock is intended for adults choosing to limit their own use of news and adult websites. It is not directed at children.
